This is a great add-on to any lesson. When students are finished with the task, they can practice their reasoning skills with the daily puzzle.

 

GOOD FOR ALL AGES!

Can be used as young as elementary school all the way into college classes! Hints are provided, so if the puzzle is more advanced for younger students, the teacher can show the hidden clue.

PERSONAL USE

When I used this with my classes, I printed the puzzles (including the hint) on a large A3 size paper. I folded the hint so that it was hidden and hung the puzzle up in the classroom. I left it on the wall for the entire lesson, so if students were done with the math problem on the board, they could re-visit the daily puzzle. I had a shoe box with small papers in the front of the room, so if students cracked the puzzle, they could submit their answers into the box for fun extra points. About halfway through the lesson, I would unfold the paper to reveal the clue to the puzzle. Any student who guessed correct after the clue was revealed earned half the points.
